Biology Concepts: Evolution Series (3- DVDs) -- Theories & Evidence of Evolution; Distinguishing Between Life and Nonlife
Complete 3- DVD Evolution Series
Theories of Evolution -- Students learn how fossils are formed and about the valuable information fossils provide about the history of life on earth. The rate at which evolution occurs is presented, as the theories of Graduation and Punctuated Gradualism are compared.
Evidence of Evolution -- After a review showing how fossils are formed, students learn how scientists discover the age of fossils using the techniques of Relative Dating and Radioactive Dating. The Geological Time Scale is shown and finally, students learn about the process of Adaption and Natural Selection~and about Mutation.
Distinguishing Between Life and Nonlife -- Students learn the characteristics of living things and design experiments to determine if various things are living or nonliving.Demonstrations show that living and nonliving things may share similar characteristics. The final video activity makes your students part of a research team trying to establish whether there is life on Mars.
Running time: Approximately 30 minutes each
